What is Long Day Care?
Long Day Care refers to centre-based childcare services provided by professional staff – also known as 'childcare centres'. Long day care facilities (such as Brilliant Beginnings) typically cater to babies and children up to school-starting ages, enabling parents to work, study or attend other commitments. What do I do if my child is sick?
Should your child be absent for any reason, we kindly request that you notify the centre prior to 10:00am. If your child is absent due to illness, we may enquire about the nature of the illness so we can minimise any potential impact this may have on other children and families.
Absences are charged as per usual and government rebates will apply, providing all entitlement criteria are in order (see MyChild.gov.au for further details).
What type of meals will my child be eating?
We provide children with a range of healthy and nutritious meals – please contact us for a copy of the centre's latest menu. We are a food additive-aware centre, as we feel the health and behavioural benefits can be seen, and our services are compliant with all government safety requirements.
If your child has any special dietary requirements (e.g. for medical or religious reasons), we ask that you please disclose this during enrolment so our staff can work with you to best cater to your child's specific needs. For children with allergies, parents will be required to submit a treatment plan as outlined by the child's physician. Parents are encouraged to speak directly with the service manager to discuss any queries or concerns regarding their child's individual needs.
How can I leave feedback about my centre?
At Brilliant Beginnings, part of our commitment to providing exceptional care is the open flow of communication between centres and families. We greatly appreciate all the feedback we receive from parents as it helps us to provide the highest possible level of service and care. If you have any compliments, concerns or complaints about your centre, we advise you to first speak directly with your child’s educator. Alternatively, if you feel the matter is more pressing, you can call or email your centre's service manager. Families are also welcome to contact the administration office at any time if they do not feel that the matter can be handled at the service level.
How do I pay my account?
Payments can be made using Direct Debit (from a savings account or credit card) on either a weekly or fortnightly basis. All accounts are required to be paid one cycle in advance to maintain enrolment.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. We are a government approved Child Care Benefit (CCB) service.

What happens if I am late picking up my child?
Our centres' operational hours are from 7:00am to 6:00pm, and we encourage parents to arrive by 5:45pm to collect their child (which allows time for a brief chat with staff and the gathering of any belongings). Please do not be late! Parents will be charged $2.00 per minute, per staff member for any child that has not been picked up by 6:00pm. If we are not able to make contact with anyone on the child's 'pick-up list', we will then contact the police for further assistance.
